You've made all the difference

Breaking News & Views for the Progressive Community

February 4, 2015

Dear Terry,

The Maine winters are notoriously long and treacherous and, judging from the three feet of snow that fell in the last week, this year is looking to be no exception.

But despite the weather, and our tight budget, the Common Dreams news team is here.

We work hard 365 days a year to bring you headlines from around the world - the stories that the corporate media either can’t, or won’t publish - and views from the best progressive voices of our time. In short, we bring you the news that matters.

Common Dreams is a non-profit. That means no advertisers, no government grants, and no private interests to skew or prejudice our reporting. We are beholden only to you, our readers.

To make it work, every couple of months we must reach out to the Common Dreams community and ask for support. Your small donations have made all the difference in making this organization what it is today and we are coming to you now to once again ask for your help.

Today we are kicking off our Winter Fundraiser. In the coming days, we must raise $50,000 to meet our bare minimum budget goal. Our readers have sustained us for the past 18 years, and we want to be able to continue for the next 18!

Can we count on you today?

We can’t do it without you.

In gratitude,

Bethany Snow
for the whole Common Dreams news team
