Crowd vs. Machine
One way to help expedite searches is by developing computer image algorithms. But it takes smart humans to build them, and a lot of high quality training data. Right now we're working on a change detection algorithm, to try and spot changes over time.

Explore two dueling campaigns, which both work toward improving the algorithm! Team Machine works to validate results from the new algorithm, and Team Crowd works to provide a solid ground truth and train the algorithm. Campaign imagery of Beihai, China.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations estimates that nearly 805 million people, or one in nine globally, suffer from hunger. As the population continues to grow, the science behind food security becomes increasingly important.
