With so many political and social changes taking place around us, you won't want to miss JOFA's Ninth International Conference.
The JOFA Conference is the premier destination for over 1,000 supporters of Orthodox feminism to explore the intersection of feminist ideals with critical facets of our religious lives. Conference sessions will feature world-renowned lecturers discussing halakha, race, sexuality, family, and political structures. This year's theme "Chart (Y)our Course," empowers individuals and communities to navigate paths that will achieve real progress.
In response to recent events, there will be an additional focus to this year's conference. Bat Sheva Marcus, JOFA President, announced: "This year, more than ever, we must have real discussions about the role that JOFA plays in shaping our new political reality. In light of the shifting socio-political landscape we've added a few sessions, including a Town Hall Meeting. We're hoping people will find our conference to be a place for passionate, but polite dialogue on some of the issues that matter to us most as women and as a Jewish community."
Features of this year's conference include:
- Special programming for high school and college students, and educational cohorts
- Art exhibits, films, and musical and spoken word performances
- Book launch of a Festschrift in honor of Blu Greenberg, JOFA's founder and the "Mother of Orthodox Feminism."
