CUBA SI! CUBA SEE!

Travels Logo
Dear Terry,
It’s a pivotal time in Cuba. Join The Nation from March 25 to April 1, 2017, as we experience the people, politics, culture, and history of Havana and beyond during this unique period in the country’s history. Our March journey is specially designed to provide unmatched access and insight. “These trips are important to educate ourselves to the realities of Cuba, for preserving our right to travel, and for effectively engaging in the coming debate over Cuba policy,” says Cuba expert and Nation contributor Peter Kornbluh, who will joining us on this tour.
During our time there, we will immerse ourselves in the beauty and energy of Havana, spending our days meeting with prominent Cuban professors, government officials, physicians, community activists, farmers, urban planners, journalists, and artists. Our evenings will be filled with exclusive concerts by renowned musicians, private showings at artists’ studios, and performances by students of Cuba’s internationally acclaimed dance institutes.

We’ll tour museums with eminent art historians, wander through the markets of Old Havana, experience the scenic beauty of Pinar del Río Province and the Viñales Valley (a UNESCO World Heritage site), explore organic farms and savor traditional Cuban food and spirits.
We will be joined by Cuba expert and longtime Nation contributor Peter Kornbluh. Peter is the director of the Cuba Documentation Project at George Washington University’s National Security Archive and the author of several books on Cuba, including the recently published Back Channel to Cuba: The Hidden History of Negotiations Between Washington and Havana.
